Rémi Gaché

Euphonium and Trombone Player

Born in 1989, Paris, France, he learns trumpet at 8. He achieves musical studies with classic tuba in Lyon and obtains a bachelor in musicology. He also plays in several bands, gains professional experience and gets the opportunity to play in several countries of Europe (France, Spain, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Belgium, Italy and Germany). He tries other horns like saxhorn baryton, bass saxhorn, sousaphone, tuba, euphonium and trombone and decides to develop skills for this rare instrument: euphonium. With this instrument, he gives a new interpretation of classical works, for example, in the duo “Innere Stimme”. He also explores the possibilities of the instrument in his trio Oléum Camino, improvising, playing bassline and using pedal effects.

Rémi Gaché teaches trombone two years in the Conservatoire de Vaulx-en-Velin and in the Brass School of Lyon, and develops a way of thinking and teaching brass, inspired from the methods of American and German brass players and from the group pedagogy.

He’s actually studying jazz in Berlin and developing his skills in improvisation.

Now that I have achieved classical studies, i feel like I have a lot to learn in improvisation and jazz field. I'm also really curious about the way to teach brass in Holland, and I think that I could learn a lot from the different trombone teachers from the University of Codarts.

I'm a serious hard-working musician, and I want to commit myself and my time to take part of the lessons, ensembles and events from the university.

If I get the chance to study in Codarts, I will use this unique opportunity and time to develop my instrumental skills and creativity to eventually come up with somthing original.

I read that the deadline is March 1st, and I hope that you will consider my application.
